There are certain wins and losses in NFL history that carry more weight than others. As the Atlanta Falcons found out last year, people remember when your team blows a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl.
During the Houston Astros World Series banner ceremony on Monday, a familiar image hovered in the distance. Behind the Houston’s new championship scenery, a picture was unearthed of one of the infamous Super Bowl LI scoreboard graphic banners lurking in the distance.
Of course, Houston was the site of Atlanta blowing a 28-3 lead to the Patriots en route to losing the Super Bowl in what proved to be one of the great collapses in North American sports history.
Sure, another Super Bowl has passed but it will be a long time before the Falcons can actually shed a gigantic missed opportunity.
