ESPN reports that JaMarcus Russell’s days as an Oakland Raider are dwindling to a precious few. Awful play mixed with the arrival of Jason Campbell and the Raiders being able to save nearly $7 million by cutting him, the clock is ticking for the LSU Tiger.

Once he is released, it will be full steam ahead for Jason Campbell as the Raiders starting quarterback.

The number one overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, Russell will likely be considered one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history. He’s certainly in Leaf/Mandarich territory.

Unfortunately for Russell, he does not have anyone to blame but himself.
