The worst nightmare of Steelers Nation is slowly becoming a reality. As described in an earlier post, when Roger Goodell is looking for a meeting, typically something bad is right around the corner.
The NFL Commissioner stated on Monday that he will meet with the embattled Ben Roethlisberger “at the appropriate time.”
Goodell is obviously concerned by the recent allegations against Roethlisberger and deems this situation serious enough to merit a closer look. After all, as Goodell explained, this isn’t Big Ben’s first rodeo.
“The most important thing is we take the issue seriously. We are concerned that Ben continues to put himself in this position.”
While we are still a ways off from using words like “suspension”, “Dennis Dixon”, and “Charlie Batch”, Goodell’s involvement is not going to be a fun development for Pittsburgh fans.
Despite Roethlisberger’s lawyer, David Cornwell, explaining that he and his client “look forward” to such a meeting, the further Big Ben stays away from Roger, the better for all parties involved. However, it appears that meeting is now inevitable.
