In the midst of arguably the second greatest season ever by an NFL quarterback,* Aaron Rodgers is speaking out against the charges of PED use levied upon Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun.
Braun, a friend of Rodgers, reportedly tested positive for taking performance enhancing drugs. The 2011 National League MVP is appealing the positive test and also has the support of the soon-to-be 2011 NFL MVP.
During his weekly radio program on ESPN Milwaukee, Rodgers staunchly defended his friend and stated that the allegations of Braun’s PED use are “ridiculous” and that he was “100 percent” behind his pal’s statement of innocence.
Also, A-Rod used the opportunity to call the NFL’s proposed HGH testing during the recent CBA negotiations as “ludicrous.”
Right or wrong, it’s refreshing to hear a notable figure in the NFL speak out against something other than money.
*How soon we forget the greatest season ever from a quarterback…it happened a mere four years ago versus tougher competition.
