New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees established a new NFL record tonight with a touchdown pass in 48 consecutive games; surpassing Johnny Unitas’s 52-year-old mark of 47.
The record-setting play came on a 40-yard touchdown pass to Devery Henderson.
The Superdome crowd, which included his family and suspended head coach Sean Payton, saluted Brees’s latest record-breaking accomplishment.
In a year where very little has gone right for New Orleans, finally Brees gave them something to cheer about.
