Do you believe in the Atlanta Falcons?
Let me ask that again.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE ATLANTA FALCONS?
Good, because I don’t either.
Let’s look at Week 8:
EAGLES 20, FALCONS 17 – We’ve all heard the stat by now. Andy Reid is roughly 7,831-0 when the Eagles are coming off of a bye week. While that is a spiffy number and all, there is something else at work when the Birds host Atlanta. Structurally, the Eagles have everything you could need to slow down Atlanta’s potentially potent offense. Quick defense line and active front seven against the burly Michael Turner? Check. Good corners to limit Roddy White and Julio Jones? Check. Receivers to exploit Atlanta’s suspect secondary? Yup that too. LeSean McCoy? Yessir. I like the Eagles here. They are playing for their season…and perhaps Michael Vick’s Eagles career that they are playing for today. Also, Hurricane Sandy’s arrival may mean Reid has no choice but to run the ball.
GIANTS 30, COWBOYS 23 – All of a sudden, Dallas’s offense is shoddy. Their running game is banged up and the Dallas passing game clearly is missing something (i.e. Dez Bryant consistently catching the ball) Meanwhile, losing linebacker Sean Lee is not going to help. The effort will be there for the Pokes but the manpower is not. Viva la Eli.
BRONCOS 38, SAINTS 34 – The Saints can’t afford to lose many games at this point because of their porous 0-4 start. Meanwhile, the Norv/Phil Rivers combo means there is blood in the water in the AFC West. I like points to be scored in this game…a lot of points. Last QB with the ball wins. Peyton it is…
