Wes Welker’s Wife Goes In On Ray Lewis

Invariably, when a big playoff loss occurs, someone’s wife is going to be angry.

Instead of Gisele going HAM on one of Tom Brady’s teammates, it’s Mrs. Wes Welker, who is upset at New England’s postseason demise.

It appears she turned her anger towards Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis on Facebook following last night’s game:

Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!

While this is a big case of sour grapes from Anna Burns Welker, it does expose a problem that the Ravens will face prior to Super Bowl XLVII.

One supposes that the media will have to broach the subject of the Atlanta situation with Lewis. My guess is Lewis will brush it off and not answer questions related to it head on.

However, it’s going to come up in a variety of ways. I’m sure they’ll be ready for it but the Lewis situation serves as a distraction they’ll have to overcome.

As for Mrs. Welker, wives have to be careful popping off against other players. She’s not the one that would get steamrolled by Bernard Pollard.

Her husband will draw that unfortunate card.

UPDATE: 7:27 P.M. – To nobody’s surprise, Mrs. Welker apologized about her Facebook remarks… “I apologize to Ray Lewis and his family for my comments. In no way did I mean for them to be mean or hurtful. I’m embarrassed for being a sore loser. I wish Ray and the Ravens good luck. Lesson learned!”

  1. Wow, that is a very serious case of sour grapes. Sure, go ahead and support your husband while he’s feeling disappointed. But leave Lewis’s personal life out of it. It has nothing to do with the way the pats performed last night. You can’t call someone out as a poor role model while you’re perpetuating poor sportsmanship.
But that’s just my 2 cents on silly stuff like this…

Love reading your post btw! Excited to pop by the day after the Superbowl and see what’s cooking. 🙂
