Now, here comes insult added to injury courtesy of one of Philadelphia’s brightest young athletes.
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Domonic Brown tweeted a picture on Sunday wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey.
Supporting the Cowboys is one thing but rooting for Dallas when you’re a Philadelphia athlete is akin to an act of treason.
Brown stated on Monday that Philadelphia fans don’t have love for him. Here’s the thing. If they don’t have love for Brown, it’s for all the wrong reasons.
Being a card-carrying Cowboys fan while playing in the city that loathes Dallas is a despicable move to some Philadelphia brethren…just not Brown.
I think it’s absurd to ask a player who has no significant ties to the area (Brown is originally from Florida) to root solely for Philly teams.
This is not a dictatorship, Philadelphia.
Dom Brown needs to hit home runs and drive in runs. If he supported the 1980 Soviet Union hockey team, I’d be cool with it as long as the Phillies get those W’s.
