During tonight’s Brooklyn Nets/Philadelphia 76ers tilt in Brooklyn, newly minted Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson sat courtside with a pair of special celebrities.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé rubbed elbows with Wilson, who is one night removed from joining such elite names as Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, and Kurt Warner as the only quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl in their second season.
Wilson also became just the second African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl and is the third-youngest quarterback to ever hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Alas, when you play like a champion and become a champion, other titans of industry like Jay-Z and Beyoncé don’t mind hanging out.
It’s been a starry 24 hours for Wilson. He will appear on The Late Show with David Letterman Monday night on CBS.
