As a part of a preseason preview, it’s time to take a look at the NFL 2014 by taking a look at the league’s contenders and pretenders. First up, America’s Team (sometimes)…

Summary: The Dallas Cowboys fielded one of the worst defenses in NFL history in 2013. Dallas became the first team in league history to allow four 400-yard passers in a season. Instead of attempting to address the problem in the draft’s first round, Stephen Jones needed to prevent Pops from going rogue by selecting Johnny Manziel; and Dallas opted to draft offensive lineman Zack Martin, who inadvertently injured the team’s most valuable defensive player, Sean Lee, during organized team activities in May.

Then, there is quarterback Tony Romo. The beaten and battered 34-year-old can’t quite get Dallas out of this vortex of 8-8 seasons.

He will this season finally but they’ll likely be worse.
