Earlier this morning I was awakened by an alert at 2:26 that read:
VIKINGS PLACE ADRIAN PETERSON ON EXEMPT LIST, WHICH REQUIRES HE REMAIN AWAY FROM ALL TEAM ACTIVITIES.
Amidst political pressure and growing concerns from sponsors, the Vikings missing a sponsor for their new stadium according to ESPN, Minnesota placed Peterson on the Exempt List, which essentially removes him from the team.
Earlier in the week, Vikings brass stated that Peterson would return to practice and play on Sunday against the Saints.
Hours later, new reports arrived that Peterson was involved in another child abuse allegation dating back to June 2013.
It is unknown how long Peterson will be out but one thing is for sure. You can tell a league is under siege if they are releasing major news items after 2 A.M.
