Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has a new contract but clearly has not lost his edge.
During a Sunday practice at Cowboys training camp, Bryant took a swing at teammate and cornerback Tyler Patmon.
It didn’t appear to be a big deal to Bryant following practice when he talked to reporters.
“It’s two great competitors going at it. We were chirping a little bit back and forth. I got a little bit overheated. … I was giving him a little bit of mouth, talking about a whole bunch of stuff to him. He was talking back to me, and it just escalated to the next play. … He wasn’t going to back down, I wasn’t going to back down. … At the end of the day, we shook hands, we hugged and we respect one another.”
It’s not the first time someone threw a punch during a training camp practice.
It could have been a lot worse. Remember the doozy between Washington Redskins teammates Stephen Davis and Michael Westbrook?
THAT was a fight worth being concerned about.
