Tony Romo read a statement on Tuesday to announce his intentions to sit idly by as Dak Prescott possibly leads the Dallas Cowboys to their first Super Bowl since January 1996.
Romo’s letter is a symbolic gesture of where the league is headed over the next five years. The old guard (Romo, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Eli, Brees, Carson Palmer, Philly Rivers and yes, even Lord Thomas) are getting bowled over by the new kids on the block. Typically, such a transition is a gory one. This will be no exception. Romo is the first dinosaur to become extinct during the 2016 season.
Meanwhile, Romo’s Prescott’s Cowboys are the best team in football through the first 10 weeks of the season. Sadly for Romo, his biggest contribution to the ’16 Cowboys was getting injured. Sad.
In other news, the Steelers are in deep trouble at 4-5; and Seattle’s win at New England certifies them once again as a legitimate NFC threat.
