As per usual, Black Monday looms on the horizon as a slew of NFL head coaches typically get fired following the end of regular season play.
We’ve already seen Gus Bradley, Rex Ryan, Jeff Fisher bite the dust during the 2016 season. Now, it appears a few more names might land on the list.
First, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the San Francisco 49ers plan on firing head coach Chip Kelly and GM Trent Baalke.
If released, Kelly would have lasted just one season in the Bay Area. The Niners are finishing one of the most embarrassing seasons in franchise history.
The 2-13 49ers finish out their slate against the Seattle Seahawks.
Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos and Gary Kubiak may be parting ways. Kubiak, who led the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory last season is rumored to be retiring due to health concerns.
Earlier this season, Kubiak missed a game due to migraine conditions.
Other names that could be out include Chuck Pagano, Mike McCoy, and Sean Payton.
