While the first NFL game of any kind takes place on Thursday night, there are still off-the-field issues that can continue to hang over The Shield™.
Nessa Diab, the girlfriend of ex-49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, says his name was edited out of a song featured in the video game Madden NFL ’19.
Diab also provided video evidence to further solidify her finding.
The song in question is called “Big Bank” by YG featuring 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Nicki Minaj. The song includes the following line:
Feed me to the wolves now I lead the pack and s***
You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick.
When the song is featured in the game, the Colin Kaepernick mention is cut out of the game.
Of course, this probably does nothing to hurt Kaepernick’s collusion case against the NFL, which Kaepernick filed.
It is incredible that the NFL/EA Sports made this type of mistake. Why not just get another song instead of even running this risk?
Think about it.
EA Sports literally could have picked any video game friendly pop, hip-hop, alternative, shoegaze, metal, death metal, show tune or Broadway song and not gotten the backlash they are receiving.
Why did the ESPN NFL 2K series have to die?
