For The Second Straight Year, The Giants Lose On A Field Goal Of Over 60 Yards

The New York Giants are snakebitten as of late when it comes to losing games via field goal. Carolina Panthers kicker Graham Gano nailed a 63-yard field goal to beat the Giants 33-31 on Sunday.

All three Giants losses this season have been by seven points or less. Heartbreak is nothing new to this era of Giants football though. Sunday’s loss marked the second time in the last year that New York was clipped in the final seconds by a field goal make of 60 yards or more.

Last season, the Eagles got a 61-yard field goal at the gun from Jake Elliott to overcome the Giants 27-24.

Now, the Giants add a new entry into their nightmare fuel with a kick by Graham Gano that looked like it would have been good from 75 yards away.

Between that and Giants head coach Pat Shurmur getting surly over Odell Beckham Jr.’s comments last week, it is not the best time to be supporting Big Blue.

Speaking of the Eagles, they’ll make their way to Met Life Stadium on Thursday when the Giants host the Birds.
