Jacksonville Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan will be an integral part of All Elite Wrestling – a new professional wrestling company fronted by Cody Rhodes (the son of legendary wrestler, the late Dusty Rhodes) and Matt and Nick Jackson (aka The Young Bucks).
The new organization was announced on Tuesday when Rhodes and The Young Bucks were formally allowed to announce the new venture following weeks of speculation due to contract restrictions.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Khan will serve as the organization’s President. Meanwhile, Rhodes and the Jacksons will hold Executive Vice President positions.
There will be a rally on January 8 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville regarding the organization and an upcoming event called “Double or Nothing.” Last September, the same trio combined their efforts to put together a successful and critically-acclaimed independent wrestling event called “All-In” – held at the Sears Center in Chicago.
The Khan family helping to bankroll this project could change the game in sports entertainment in the ring and on television if AEW can score a television deal.
If all goes well, All Elite Wrestling could lineup to be a strong alternative to sports entertainment’s lead dog – World Wrestling Entertainment.
