Cowboys Dropkick Seahawks Out Of Playoffs To Advance To Divisional Round

Quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott helped carry the Dallas Cowboys into the NFC Divisional round in a 24-22 wild card win over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night.

Late in the fourth quarter, Prescott used his legs to convert on a 3rd and 14 from the Seattle 17. His 16-yard gain setup a one-yard touchdown run by Prescott moments later. Prescott, who also threw a touchdown pass, gave Dallas a seemingly insurmountable 10-point lead.

While Prescott’s 3rd and 14 run was pivotal and perhaps the game’s biggest play, the another critical turning point came shortly before halftime. Seahawks Sebastian Janikowski injured his hamstring on an unsuccessful long field goal attempt.

The Seahawks had to settle for Michael Dickson’s dropkicking, which had limited success. After Dallas saw their lead cut to two with under 90 seconds left, Dickson unleashed a dropkick that sent the Seahawks right out of the playoffs.

Between the Dickson fiasco, the Cowboys D, Russell Wilson’s use that was called malpractice on Twitter, and Elliott’s 137 yards, Uncle Pete’s crew was doomed in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys will head to the road to face either the New Orleans Saints or Los Angeles Rams next weekend. If it’s the Saints, I’ll have an excuse to keep posting this video:

Go Bears?

Nah.

The NFL world will be a far more interesting place if the Cowboys host the NFC title game against the Eagles.
