Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys could not muster enough offense to stay unbeaten in a 12-10 loss to Teddy Bridgewater and the New Orleans Saints.
The Dallas loss closed out a Week 4 Sunday filled with road teams shocking many of their surprised hosts (road teams were 11-3 on Sunday). Ultimately, the road heavy Sunday has left just three unbeaten teams: the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and surprisingly, the San Francisco 49ers.
Besides the Cowboys, the other undefeated casualties of Sunday were plentiful:
- Detroit lost by four at home to still undefeated Kansas City.
- Buffalo held Tom Brady to a passer rating below 50 but couldn’t overcome the Patriots D in a 16-10 loss at home.
- In perhaps the day’s biggest shocker, the Rams lost 55-40 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, who just one week earlier squandered a 28-10 lead at home to the New York Giants.
Of course, Thursday Night Football saw the Packers fall from the unbeaten ranks by losing 34-27 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaking of the Eagles, radio play-by-play announcer Merrill Reese may have summed up Week 4 in the most accurate fashion:
The Eagles certainly have their own warts including a highly questionable secondary and decaying pass rush amongst other issues. However, they are certainly in the mix.
It’s going to be a fun season. Let’s enjoy the ride.
