What is the main idea of Baltimore’s 45-6 annihilation of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night? Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is going to be the 2019 NFL MVP.
Jackson torched the Rams with five touchdown passes during another impressive outing on Monday night. The Louisville product completed 15 of 20 passes for 169 yards and rushed for another 95 yards on just eight carries.
Once again, the former Heisman Trophy winner made history in the process. Jackson became the first player in NFL history to have consecutive games of four touchdown passes and at least 50 yards rushing.
Barring a collapse of some kind, Jackson appears to be on his way to winning MVP. However, as he told ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters, he has greater aspirations…winning a Super Bowl.
Speaking of such pursuits, the Ravens are still a game out of home-field advantage in the AFC. New England holds a one-game lead with their 10-1 mark but the 9-2 Ravens have a head-to-head victory over the Patriots earlier this season.
Perhaps the greatest test for the Ravens arrives on Sunday when they host the San Francisco 49ers in a potential preview of Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
The Ravens have been installed as 5 1/2 point favorites on Sunday, according to FanDuel.
