Tom Brady has plenty of reasons to smile this morning. According to SI.com’s Peter King, Brady agreed to a four-year extension worth $72 million including $48.5 million guaranteed.

This story broke last night during the Vikings/Saints opener and on the same day as Brady’s car accident.

Brady’s deal tops that of a Manning, not named Peyton. Eli Manning makes $16 million per year.

Brady’s new contract will not make life easier for the Colts, who now will assuredly have to top the deal during the Peyton Manning negotiations.
