Jay Cutler Did Some Real Jay Cutler Things Last Night

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (with some assistance from a porous offensive line) laid an egg last night during Chicago’s 23-10 loss to the Packers.

Green Bay sacked Cutler seven times and picked him off on four occasions.

Cutler, who was visibly upset at his offensive line’s effort in Lambeau Field, offered sulky, mopping fare during his post-game press conference.

When asked if he ever envisioned a performance like this (which on the surface was a college-media level question), Cutler got chippy.

“Yeah, I dream about throwing four picks and getting sacked seven times,” Cutler said.

Or, what earlier when Cutler discussed his emotional state on the field:

“I care about this,” Cutler said. “This isn’t just a hobby. I’m not doing this for my health. I’m trying to win football games. When we’re not doing the little things or things the right way consistently, I’m going to say something. If they want a quarterback that doesn’t care, they can get someone else.”

The surly Cutler off the field did not surprise; and neither did his performance on the field, according to Green Bay’s Charles Woodson:

“It’s the same old Jay. We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball.”

When you’re getting smoked by opposing players in post-game pressers, that says it all.

Cutler finished 11 of 27 for 126 yards along with a touchdown pass and four interceptions.
