The 1985 Bears rank among the most ferocious NFL teams of all-time.
Fronted by Buddy Ryan’s 46 defense and the legendary Walter Payton, the Bears went 15-1 in ’85 en route to winning Super Bowl XX.
Many casualties were left along the way in ’85 including Detroit Lions quarterback Eric Hipple, who felt the sting of linebacker Wilbur Marshall on a chilly day at Soldier Field.
The present-day Bears aren’t rolling like their 1985 counterparts but they are the NFL’s top ranked defense heading into Week 7.
Chicago concludes Week 7 action with a home date on Monday Night Football against the Lions.
*Look for Hipple to get freight-trained at the 3:20 mark.
