If I had to create a shortlist of NFL things I dislike, the 1972 Miami Dolphins are easily in the top 5.
As stated before on this blog, the unbeaten 1972 Miami Dolphins should stay in the background and not gleefully celebrate when teams don’t finish the season undefeated.
Plus, we should celebrate the only team to top Miami’s 17-0 and not a bunch of guys who played a Kleenex thin schedule.
Unfortunately though, the virus of the 1972 Dolphins has fed into Miami’s water supply.
A tattooed fan attended Tennessee’s 37-3 thumping of the Dolphins in Miami wearing what appeared to be a tat that read “Undefeated….Unforgotten” in reference to the ’72 gang.
The tattoo’s sighting proved fitting on the same day that the NFL’s last undefeated team, the Atlanta Falcons, bit the dust.
Hours after that tattoo surfaced, another photo of a woman worshipping the image (and the man) hit the internet.
Somewhere, Mercury Morris is cackling.
