Moments before New England botched the final 20 seconds of the first half of Sunday’s AFC title game loss to Baltimore, Tom Brady scrambled for extra yardage and in the process caught Ravens safety Ed Reed high with a slide.
The league announced on Wednesday evening that it was fining Brady $10,000 for his high slide on Reed.
Brady’s slide was followed by a complaint from Ravens safety and Patriots annihilator Bernard Pollard. Soon after, the league announced Brady’s play was under review.
Despite a phone conversation between Brady and Reed smoothing out matters earlier this week, the league decided to take action.
While Brady was compared to Ty Cobb during Sunday’s game for his slide, it appeared TB12 was protecting himself before getting creamed by Reed.
Nonetheless, Brady is $10,000 lighter, which isn’t exactly a big dent into his wallet.
