Once upon a time in sports fandom, few folks cared about the ESPYs but we’ve come a long way in over 20 years of ESPN’s annual awards ceremony.
Joel McHale hosted Wednesday night’s awards ceremony and had some entertaining moments. Perhaps, his monologue was at the top of the list.
McHale made reference to New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul’s firecracker accident. After introducing him to the audience, a camera panned to a detached finger with a Super Bowl ring on it.
Geez.
Besides that joke, he made the usual Brett Favre/Gronk/Tom Brady jokes that one comes to expect from a comedian at sports events.
