Washington Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson committed one of the most egregious errors of the 2015 season on Monday night during Washington’s 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
With the game tied at 9 late in the fourth quarter, Jackson fielded a punt deep in his own end and committed the cardinal sin of reversing his field inside of the Washington 10.
Eventually, Jackson fumbled the punt away and the Cowboys hopped on top for the recovery. Moments later, Darren McFadden rumbled into the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.
While Jackson answered with a game-tying touchdown reception. His terrible punt return set the stage for a Dallas victory.
However, the play aptly summed up the NFC East in one play.
All flash, no substance.
After Washington’s loss, there is a three-way tie atop the NFC East with a glowing record of 5-7. Meanwhile, the 4-8 Cowboys are just one game behind the Redskins, Eagles, and Giants.
Gross.
