When New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick took the podium on Tuesday, he brought a surprise with him.
A black eye.
The four-time Super Bowl winning head coach suffered some sort of injury over his left eye. When questioned about the injury during his press conference, Belichick’s comment was predictable – “I’ll live.”
Belichick’s injury wasn’t the biggest Patriots story by day’s end. Defensive end Chandler Jones reportedly “OD’d” on pills on Saturday night and went to the hospital for a “medical emergency.”
One report, which was quickly deleted, stated Jones was at the home of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Speaking of Gronk, he was surprisingly missing from practice on Tuesday after being a participant on Monday.
Just another day at the office for the Patriots, who will host the Kansas City Chiefs in divisional round action on Saturday.
