Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton edged out New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the number one spot on NFL Network’s  Top 100 countdown on Wednesday.

Newton climbed an incredible 72 spots on the list to reach number one after winning the NFL MVP award last season.

The reigning league MVP was one of three quarterbacks to finish in the top 10. Newton was joined by Brady and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers.
