From the extremely hasty hot takes division comes a scolding one from Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson.
During a guest appearance on the Simms and Lefkoe Podcast, Jackson made a startling comment about the prospects of his Jaguars in 2017:
“The Panthers did it. If the Panthers can do it after the season they had (going 7-8-1 in 2014) … But we’re going to win the Super Bowl. If they can do it, why can’t we?”
Yes, he has to express the utmost confidence in his team but winning the Super Bowl? Come on Malik.
How about make the playoffs or win the sorry AFC South? That’s far better trash talk than saying “we’re going to win the Super Bowl.” No one believes that claim including Jackson’s own teammates probably.
However, Jackson is no stranger to Super Bowl success. He won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos in 2015 and made one of the game’s biggest plays.
Yet, that’s no excuse for a delusion of grandsire.
The Jaguars need to worry about winning eight games before they even turn their heads to reaching the Super Bowl.
