Jameis Winston Will Likely Be Suspended For First Three Games Of The Season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is expected to serve a three-game suspension to start the 2018 season after violating the league’s personal conduct policy related to an incident in 2016.

Winston allegedly groped an Uber driver by grabbing her by the crotch in March 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The incident was not discovered until a BuzzFeed report surfaced over a year later.

Winston’s three-game suspension means he will miss games against the Saints, Eagles, and Steelers – three playoff teams from 2017. Last season, the former Florida State quarterback missed three games in November with a shoulder injury in the midst of Tampa’s wildly disappointing 5-11 campaign.

Make no mistake, the natives in Tampa are growing extremely impatient with Winston’s nonsense.

Of course, this isn’t Winston’s first incident regarding sexual misconduct. Back in 2012, he was accused of rape by Erica Kinsman while both were students at Florida State University. He eventually escaped criminal charges from the local police and punishment by Florida State.

In 2016, FSU paid Kinsman $950,000 as a part of a settlement after she filed a Title IX lawsuit against the school.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, who replaced Winston last season, is Tampa’s backup option at the moment.
