The Chicago Bears are free-falling out of the playoff picture after yesterday’s 21-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Windy City.
Jay Cutler was among the unhappy Bears during Sunday’s loss. Green Bay’s Casey Hayward intercepted the Bears quarterback on what appeared to be miscommunication between Cutler and receiver Devin Hester.
Following the interception, an animated Cutler explained to a teammate what happened on the sideline in typical demonstrative Jay fashion.
During a post-game presser, Cutler accepted responsibility for the error…sort of:
“It was a route we had drawn up vs. two-man [coverage],” Hester said. “Give them two steps to get them to bite and then…. I guess we just weren’t on the same page. I guess it was just missed communication on both our parts but it was just a two-man route.”Cutler voiced some responsibility. “You know, it came out of my hands. I’m responsible,” he said. “Those things can’t happen. That’s how you lose ballgames against good teams like that.”
Chicago has lost five of its last six games. If the season ended today, the Bears would be out of the playoffs.
