Yahoo announced on Wednesday that it will live stream the October 25 meeting between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
The webcast, which will be produced in conjunction with CBS Sports, will be a one-time deal but if successful could be a forerunner of things to come in future television deals for the NFL.
According to a New York Times piece, while this is experimental, it’s a glimpse at what the future could hold for the marriage of the web and sports.
While neither the NFL or Yahoo officially disclosed how much it cost to get the deal done, some experts feel it cost in the neighborhood of $20 million.
