During Sunday’s Saints/Panthers game, Cam Newton and Steve Smith connected on a 54-yard touchdown catch.

Unhappy with Smith in general, Saints safety Roman Harper took a run at the Carolina receiver in the end zone; blasting him in the process.

Harper’s hit set off a mini-skirmish (complete with Cam Newton cameo), during which Smith decided to teach a lesson to New Orleans cornerback Malcolm Jenkins.

After the game, Harper offered an explanation for his actions, which led to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

“If you’re going to score, go score, but a guy is not going to try and just walk it in on us like that. You’re going to have to pay for it as you get past the goal line.”
