I took a goose egg last week.
Yuck.
FALCONS 27, SAINTS 23 – A short week for the Saints includes a meeting with the 8-0 Falcons in town. This is a big test for Atlanta. This is a hammer game for them. If New Orleans functions properly, they are on the short list of teams that can give Atlanta a problem in the Georgia Dome in January. However, the Saints have a lot of work to do to reach the postseason. There are too many weapons for the Falcons against a suspect Saints defense.
COWBOYS 20, EAGLES 17 – To the Eagles fans who believe any season is a good one when they can beat Dallas, you’re a complete clown. The field might explode during the game at some point due to the ineptitude of the teams. In other news, I’m going to get this game wrong. I’m prepared to deal with the fallout accordingly.
TEXANS 21, BEARS 16 – A potential Super Bowl preview should be defensive-oriented. I’m not sold on the Texans in the long run because of the Matt Schaub/Gary Kubiak combo in clutch time. The Bears might be their NFC brother. The formula for slowing Chicago is pretty simple; get to Cutler and he may fold accordingly. Houston had the yips for their first Sunday night appearance. I think they’ll learn from that experience in round two.
